Marvin Dunbar, 90, of Madison, entered the presence of the Lord on February 4, 2020. He was born March 20, 1929, in Issaquena County Mississippi and passed away at Sunnybrook Estates in Madison. Visitation will be held at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 10:00 AM with his memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Natchez Trace Memorial Gardens. We are saddened by the loss of this Godly man, but we know he is being welcomed by the heavenly hosts at his eternal home that has been prepared for him. Marvin served our country in the Navy during World War II. He retired when he was 58 years old after a long career working as a switchman with the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He spent many hours supporting God’s work as a charter member of Trace Ridge Baptist Church. His wife, Carrie Alene, proceeded him to heaven in 1996. He is survived by his children Rick Dunbar (Linda), Denise Corbett (Barry), and Donna Roberts (Joel); by his grandchildren Lisa Keeling (Don), Daniel Dunbar (Carleigh), Anna Dunbar, Patrick Corbett, Sarah Parrish (Daniel), Allison Sosebee (Rob), and Jessica Anderson (Will); and by his eight great grandchildren. A special thanks is extended to all the staff of Sunnybrook Estates and Covenant Caregivers, especially his favorite caregiver, Icyphine Love. He leaves us with the legacy and example of hard work, honesty, and service. His love for the Lord shone in many ways, most fondly of how he cared for those mentally and physically disabled.
