Alice Cecelia Stelzer, Age 93, died May 31st, 2020 peacefully at Home in Madison, MS. Alice was born in Cedar Hill, Town of Newburgh, NY to John F. Monahan and Catherine Meehan Monahan. Alice was the youngest of 11 children all deceased. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Spencer Business College and attended the State College at New Paltz, NY. Her career began at Capital Finance Corporation having worked there for 11 years until her marriage to Richard L. Stelzer (deceased) of Riverhead, NY. They were married on October 5th, 1957 at St Mary’s Church Marlboro, NY. Surviving is son Sean of Glen Arbor, MI., daughter Sherrell (B.J.) of Madison, MS., two grandchildren Jae of Norton, MA., Sarah of Birmingham, MI. and many nieces and nephews. Deceased siblings are: Peter, Charles, Joseph, John, Catherine, Ann, Edward, Mary, Francis and Russell. Alice was an avid golfer, seamstress, card player, gardener and decorator. She and her husband traveled extensively. Alice was a past member of Catholic Daughters Rosary Society, Ladies of Charity and Christian Mothers Guild. She was also a member of many garden clubs throughout the US. Viewing will be Tuesday June 2, 2020 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service will be officiated at 1:00pm Wednesday June 3, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt, MS. Interment will be at a later date in New York. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Josephs Catholic Church Gluckstadt,, MS and Kindred Hospice in Flowood, MS.
