Please share a memory of Rev. Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rev. Harold E. Clemans Madison, MS Rev. Harold Clemans, age 83, passed away on July 18, 2020. Psalms 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” He was born on July 2, 1937 to Mr. Edgar and Mary Clemans in Parma, Idaho. His family were farmers. He was a hard worker on the farm from young childhood until he went to college. Harold graduated from Parma High School. He went to Portland, Oregon and graduated from Conqueror’s Bible College in 1959 and became a licensed minister. His love for God was lived out by being involved in every aspect of ministry through the years. Harold was an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International for 60 years. Many friends that knew Harold are telling Carol, “Harold was a sweet, gentle loving man.” In 1970, he married Carol Theobald Clemans in Santa Cruz, California. Harold first saw Carol at a church camp meeting in the mountains of Santa Cruz. He said that God spoke in his heart and said, “That is the woman you are going to marry.” It took him one year to find Carol’s identity. (They will celebrate 50 years of marriage on August 1, 2020, with Harold in heaven and in Carol’s heart.) Harold and Carol both experienced their life changing salvation experience (Acts 2) in 1955. Harold was in Idaho and Carol was in California. After marriage, while living in Santa Cruz, Harold became pastor of Christ Temple Church. Harold and Carol were blessed with two children, Joe’l Annette and Jonathan Mark. In 1980, the Clemans moved to Stockton, CA. He built an insurance business along with being involved in different aspects of ministry. Harold was 1000% supportive to his wife being a Bible teacher and becoming a Certified Pastoral Counselor. He prayerfully blessed the founding of Life Enrichment Ministries, Inc. (501c3), a nationwide ministry of teaching, counseling, life coaching, and writing God’s truth for spiritual, emotional and relational growth – www.carolclemans.org. The Clemans lived in St. Peters, Mo., Loveland, CO., and Madison, MS. Harold was devoted to his children. Before he went to the Lord, Joe’l and Jonathan were able to share tender moments of love and appreciation with their father. He was blessed to be the grandfather (Papa) to four grandchildren who also shared in celebrating his 83rd birthday on July 2, 2020. His legacy was being faithful to God first and his family second. Harold could say as Paul, 2 Timothy 4:7-8 7” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” In the last few days while in hospice care, he told the helpers in his weak voice that they needed to be baptized in Jesus name and receive the Holy Ghost. That opened the door for Carol to explain God’s wonderful salvation of Acts 2. In his last day of communication, Harold was praying in the Spirit to the God that dwelt in him - “God in us the hope of glory!” Harold is preceded in passing by his father - Edgar E. Clemans of Idaho, his mother - Mary (McClimans) Clemans of Idaho, his half-brother - Ed Clemans of California. He is survived by his siblings: brother - Dr. Johnnie (Darla) Clemans of Idaho, his sister - Norma Moore of Idaho, his sister – Erla (Ron) Hruza of Idaho and nephews and nieces. Harold is survived by his loving wife - Carol Theobald Clemans of Madison, MS., his daughter - Mrs. Joe’l Annette Clemans (Paul) Povolni of Madison, MS., his son - Jonathan Mark (Kelli) Clemans of Valley Springs, CA., grandson - Jaden Paul Povolni, granddaughter - Madelyn Joelle Povolni, granddaughter - Amelia Grace Clemans, grandson - Reid Jonathan Clemans. A memorial celebration will be scheduled at a future date by the family. A life lived for God’s glory! Donations and memorial gifts may be made to mailing address, Life Enrichment Ministries, Inc.
