Allen Waits Stanley, Jr., aka AJ, passed away at the age of 39 on August 3, 2020 at the Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center. Born May 24, 1981 to Allen Stanley, Sr. and Barbara Fletcher (Maxey), AJ was a native of Mississippi and resident of Canton. AJ was a Veteran of the US Army. He served during the Persian Gulf War and served in Afghanistan. He was a Unit Supply Specialist and was trained as a Combat Engineer. During his military career AjJ was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, W/1 CMPN Star, National Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal, and a number of ribbons. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. AJ is survived by sister, Stephanie McEwen and her husband Tony, their children Kayleigh McEwen and Kenedy McEwen; sister, Donna Ryals and her husband Scott, their children Tyler Ryals and Tayler Ann Ryals; sister, Angela Sanders and her husband Andrew; grandmother, Agnes Waits Stanley; cousin, Christy Stanley and her three daughter, Brittany Noe'l, Joy Nicole and Natalie Grace and cousin John Stanley and his son Myles. AJ is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, BC Maxey and Willie Maxey. A graveside service celebrating his life will be conducted at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday August 5, 2020 at 11:00am.
