Obituary of Deborah A Schooler
~Deborah A. Schooler, age 66, passed away on October 21, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital. She was born on November 19, 1950 to Henry Allen and Dorothy Buchanan Allen in Vicksburg, MS.
Mrs. Schooler has been a resident of Ridgeland for forty years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Madison and a member of the Lion’s Club.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward Schooler; two sons, Joshua Schooler and Wesley Schooler; grandson, Blake Wing and sister, Brenda Allen.
An adventurer at heart, she recently toured the Hagia Sophia in Turkey, visited the pubs of Ireland, and rode behind a pack of sled-dogs with her grandson on an Alaskan glacier. When stateside, she could usually be found rooting for the Cardinals with Wes in St. Louis or at a New Orleans jazz brunch with Josh.
Always fashionably dressed, she kept the ladies of Madison in style as the general manager of Chico’s for the past fifteen years. She loved working, but most of all loved the many friendships she developed during her time there.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She took care of all her boys and was a loyal friend to her sister. She loved doting on her grandson and showing him the world, supported her sons in all their endeavors, and was always there for her family and friends. For a half-century she was her husband’s best friend and partner. And everyone will miss her cornbread dressing.
Visitation will be Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel, and interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Susan G. Komen Institute or Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital.
