Doris Kilgore Slaughter passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Elnora Kilgore, her husband, Troy Slaughter, a son, Ronnie Slaughter, a great grandson Sutherland Buford and eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Troy Stanley Slaughter (Debra), Kent Slaughter and Gene Slaughter (Susan). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Doris was retired from the Mississippi Department of Education. She was a long time member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She loved to garden, sew quilts, paint ceramics, cook and entertain family and friends. There will be a graveside service Thursday, January 7 at 11:00 at the Natchez Trace Cemetery in Madison, Ms. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice.
