Joyce Bridges Rose, 81, of Jackson, Mississippi passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Lakeland Nursing Home and is reunited with her husband as she is now united with Jesus Christ her savior. She was born November 28, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert Shephard, Bridges, Jr. and Ruth Jean Wolcott. As a child, Joyce’s family moved to Florida where she graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School. During her high school years she met her future husband Daniel L. Rose. They married in 1958 then moved to French Camp, Mississippi to serve at French Camp Academy. They later moved to Jackson, Mississippi where she was involved at First Presbyterian Church as a Circle Leader, Bible Study Teacher and as the Senior Adult Coordinator. After working in Jackson, she and Dan returned to French Camp Academy and remained until their retirement. Joyce is preceded in death by sister Jean Bridges Caldwell, her brother Robert Wolcott Bridges, and her husband of 62 years Dan Rose. She is survived by sisters Doris Bridges Clark and Glenda Bridges Lovel, her daughter Kimberly Rose Wilkins (Coles), grandchildren Howard Coles Wilkins, III “Cody”, Sarah Elizabeth Wilkins, Robert Daniel Wilkins and great-grandchild Howard Coles Wilkins IV. A graveside service will be held at Natchez Trace Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 26 at 10:00am.
