Audrey Mae Boggan Burt passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021 following an extended illness. She was the first daughter born to Dorothy and Norris Boggan of Rose Hill, Mississippi, and she grew up surrounded by relatives in the Fellowship Community of Jasper County. She graduated from Enterprise High School where she achieved many honors including class valedictorian. Her education continued at East Central Junior College and Millsaps College graduating as valedictorian at East Central and Cum Laude at Millsaps.
Audrey’s professional career involved providing social services to individuals and families while employed in several positions with Mississippi State agencies. She most enjoyed working with expectant families and small children, and she was devoted to ensuring quality care to the best of her ability. In her free time, she enjoyed hosting friends for dove and deer hunts, researching family history, planting flowers, and entertaining her niece and nephews.
Mrs. Burt is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Fairchild of Madison, and Dianne Belk (Durwood) of Lauderdale, Mississippi, step-sons, Jason Burt (Melodie) and Casey Burt (Stacey) of Enterprise. Other surviving relatives include a niece, six nephews, a great niece and great nephew, and four step-grandsons, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bryan Burt of Enterprise, parents, Dorothy and Norris Boggan, and grandparents, Austin and Ida Boggan, and Walter and Audrey Hand.
