Brecken Clare Hughes, 33, of Brandon, MS passed away June 2, 2021 at home. She was born May 29, 1988 in Flowood, MS to Peaster Leo Hughes, III and Terri F. Hughes. She was raised in Ridgeland, MS and Brandon, MS. She attended First Pres Day School then Northwest Rankin Middle School where she was voted Miss Northwest Rankin Middle School. She then graduated in 2006 a year early with honors from Northwest Rankin High School. While at Northwest, she was a two time All-American Cheerleader. She then attended Hinds Jr College and Holmes Jr College. After college, she worked with Dr. Heber Simmons, Jr. and Dr. Joseph Young pediatric dentists in Jackson, MS for five years then joined the family business of Hughes and Associates as the billing administrator. Brecken had an infectious personality from the time she was very young. People were drawn to her beauty which was inside and out. She would light up a room with her beautiful smile. She never knew a stranger. She was the light of our lives and brought so much sunshine to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Brecken loved to be outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing and shooting her firearms. There wouldn’t be a day when you saw her that she wouldn't have on her camouflage with her hat on backwards. She loved to be around people and lived life to the fullest in the short time she was here with us. Brecken will be sorely missed by all who knew her and will never be forgotten. There will never be another one quite like our Brecken. Brecken is survived by her parents, Leo and Terri Hughes; Her brother, Slater Hughes and his wife Mindy; Her niece, Peyton Barham; Her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary D. Flint; Her significant other, Cody Denton and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her fur babies were the loves of her life, Flintsky, Bulleit, Lyric and Booger.
