~John A. Laster, 85, of Madison passed away on November 7, 2017 at the University Medical Center of Jackson, MS. 
 
 John was born on August 28, 1932 in Milan, Tennessee to late Arch Laster and the late Estelle Jackson Laster. John served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army and retired as the owner of Tire Service Inc. John "Hot Patch" was an avid golfer and served as a board member for Colonial Country Club and was a charter member of the Annandale Country Club. He enjoyed playing cards and was known to be a great story teller. His family will remember him as a loving father and grandfather.
 
John is survived by daughters, Jan Bridewell (Joe) and Lane Laster Ergun; son, Drew Laster (Lydia); and grandchildren, Garrison Laster, McClain Laster, Mekkiye Ergun, Joseph Ergun and Helene Bridewell.
 
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his sister; Vernon Laster Urie.
 
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Online condolences can be given at www.natcheztracefuneralhome.com.
