Corey Ray, 41, of Ridgeland, passed away on July 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Corey Ray was born on May 8, 1980. He graduated high school from Madison Central and joined the Madison County Sheriff's Department in 1998 where he served 12 years. In 2010 Corey Ray joined the Madison Police Department and worked in Dispatch before becoming the School Resource Officer for Madison Central High School. Corey Ray is survived by his mother, Karen Green Golden and step father Gary; father, Charles Ray and step mother Vicki; and maternal grandparents, Harold and Frances Green. Corey Ray was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Coy and Kathryn Ray. Visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at Broadmoor Baptist Church with a graveside service to follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS. To honor Corey Ray, the family request that you wear Madison Central Colors or MSU colors to the funeral ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Corey Ray's name may be made to the Madison Central Big Blue Booster Club.
