I will never forget the fish fries, crawdads, cookouts in the backyard with the blues playing and the crew in back on the card table talking trash. That gumbo though!!! My Aunt Ruthie made the BEST gumbo!!! I used to always go over to her house the next day to see if any gumbo was left over. I remember one summer my cousins and I watched Friday every single day and we laughed like it was our first time watching it. I even helped them run the candy store once. We were in competition with the candy lady up the street lol.
How could one forget that hair color! I got that from my Aunt Ruthie. At one point my hair was just as colorful as hers. She even inspired me to go bolder.
Aunt Ruthie I love you and you will be truly missed!!!
