Barbara Lenaz Stribling
Flowood, MS
Mrs. Barbara Lenaz Stribling 84, of Flowood, MS was called home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2017. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 02, 2017 from 10-11 A.M. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery located at 759 Hwy. 51, Madison, MS.
Barbara was born on September 15, 1933 to Aaron Lawrence & Willie V Smith Lenaz in Gulfport, MS. Upon graduation from Gulfport High School she received a full scholarship to Mississippi Southern College (presently known as The University of Southern Mississippi) earning the degree of Bachelor of Science. She became a teacher and taught for many years as an elementary teacher. Her life passion was learning and promoting the value of receiving a quality education. On many occasions students from past years came to visit her and thank her for the valuable training and life lessons she taught them.
Barbara had many talents and skills. She was an excellent seamstress, she made beautiful jewelry, and her children raved about their mom’s cooking, especially her shrimp etouffee. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and she loved them all dearly. Barbara was quiet and private; a good-hearted woman who knew and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Madison, MS.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Andrew Webster (Webb) Stribling, and her parents. She is survived by her three daughters, Ellen McCay (Barry) of Jackson, Ms, Jan Fortenberry of Florence, Ms, and Andrea Gale of Ridgeland, Ms; brother, Ray Lenaz (Evelyn) of Biloxi, Ms; sister, Lola Attinger (Ken) of Goodyear, AZ.; nine grandchildren, Haley Arndt (Karl), Michelle Richardson (Matt), Lauren Whitehead (Ross), Brad McCay (Olivia), Jared Morrison (Sarah), Jordan Morrison (Jen), Jana Edwards (Tom), Zachary Maglisceau, Rachel Maglisceau; and thirteen loving great grandchildren.
