Obituary of Boman Lafayette Tanner III

Please share a memory of Boman to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Boman “Bo” Lafayette Tanner III, 55, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on November 30, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. His firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately provided the peace and comfort only God can bestow upon us. He will be dearly missed by his family and loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is now in the presence of his creator. Bo was born April 28, 1966, in Delhi, La. He was known and recognized for his football athletic skills from high school days at Madison-Ridgeland Academy to Holmes Community College. He also was a member of the MSU football team for one year. Bo had a tremendous love for the outdoors and fishing. He will be remembered for his craftsmanship in building furniture. Bo is preceded in death by his mother and father, Barbara Tanner Stewart and Boman Tanner, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Jeanna Carson Tanner; his son Stewart Summers (McKenzie), Madison; daughter Libby Summers, Madison; grandchildren Clayton Summers and Wyatt Summers; step-father Ron Stewart, Madison; brothers Eddie Tanner (Gail Savage), Ridgeland; Jason Tanner (Bethany), Bertham, Texas; step-sons Blake Harrell (Carrie Lynn), Brandon, and Drew Harrell (Madison), Gulfport, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. All of these he loved dearly and enjoyed their presence. The family is honored to have some of Bo’s dearest friends serving as pallbearers: Greg Cannon, Pete Enriquez, Shane Johnson, Rodney Moore, James Smith, Clay Taylor, Steve Waldrup, and Gene Wood. Please join us in celebrating the life of Bo with visitation and services at First Ridgeland Baptist Church on December 2. Visitation 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at the Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully request donations be made to the DWELL ministry at FRBC, 302 W. Jackson Street, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or firstridgeland.org/dwell-giving.
