Carman Kelley Wells, 66, died in her home in Madison, MS, on Jan. 6, 2022. Visitation is Thursday January 20, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private. Born in 1955, Carman grew up in Clinton, MS, graduated from Clinton High School and furthered her education by achieving an associate’s degree in business and administrative management. Carman held several administrative positions in the Jackson area, including the Mississippi Real Estate Board of Appraisers, and worked more than 25 years as an independent court reporter. She was very professional and well-respected by her many colleagues. Carman was a loyal Republican and a faithful Trump supporter. She and her husband Chris Wells, were newlyweds, married in June of 2020. Passionate about design, art, music and flowers, Carman had an extraordinary talent for creating beauty in everything she touched. She loved Elvis, Asian furniture and art, and her fur babies. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she excelled in creating a beautiful wonderland of design in her home each year for the holidays. A great cook, Carman enjoyed entertaining and spoiling her guests with only the best in delicious Southern cuisine. Carman had a huge heart and always went above and beyond to help people. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and members of her family. Survivors include: her husband, Christopher Dale Wells, Sr., of Madison, MS; two daughters, Christy Burr (Jeremy), of Murchison, Texas, and Mandy Johns (Deminion) of Pass Christian, MS; sister, Melody Reese Barrett, of Southern Shores, NC; five grandchildren, R. Jacob Dye of Kemp, Texas, Sabrina Kelley Singler of New Orleans, LA, Elijah M. Southern of Ruston, LA, Jaycee Dola Johns of Hattiesburg, MS, and Reign Warren Johns of Pass Christian, MS; two great-grandchildren, Echo Alannis Dye and Shiloh Endora Dye, both of Kemp, Texas; and one nephew, Andrew Barrett Ratkus, of Raleigh, NC. Carman was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Glenn Warren Freeman and Ira June Freeman of Brandon, MS.
