Doris Bingham Cole (85) of Madison, MS passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening April 22, 2022. She was born on November 18, 1936, in Moorhead, MS. Doris was preceded in death by husband George Auston Cole, son Robert Auston Cole, daughter Alisa Lynn Cole, parents Benjamin T. Bingham and Lora Moore Bingham, and sisters Lucille DeFreez, Connie Williams, and Dotty Peets Brewer. Doris was a graduate of Shaw High School in Shaw, MS. She dedicated over 40 years to Bellsouth/AT&T and won numerous awards for her outstanding performance in various departments. Since the young age of fifteen, she played the piano for churches throughout the South, most notably as the pianist of the Gospel Travelers Quartet. Doris was a faithful member of Christway Church in Flowood, MS for many years. Doris married the love of her life, George Auston Cole, on August 2, 1957. Together they built a loving family of 7, making countless memories. From yearly family vacations, picnics, holiday gatherings, and prayer, they created a legacy that will be greatly cherished. Doris illustrated abounding love for Jesus and His light radiated from her beautiful smile and warm hugs. Doris, “Grandma,” is survived by her son Randy Cole, daughters Keri Cole Fedrick (Jonathan), Alana Cole Phelps (Robbie), daughter-in-law Karen Cole (Doug Allen), grandchildren Shannon Toth (Michael), Wesley Cole, Jeffery Cole (Kayla), Brady Cole (Caetlind), Addison Phelps, Sydney Phelps, great-grandchildren Dylan Woodward, Avery Toth, Louis Toth, Ely Rose Cole, her siblings Edward Bingham, Allen Bingham, June Moore, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and again Wednesday from 10:00am until 11:00am. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
