Hue (Hoa), beloved father and chef, passed away on December 20, 2022 at the age of 64 due to liver cancer. Hoa was born on December 31, 1957 in Saigon, Vietnam to Luc Ly and Ai Banh and spent his childhood and adult years there. Hoa immigrated to the United States in 1998, where he worked as a successful chef at various restaurants in the Jackson area. Hoa was known for his innovation in the kitchen and his ability to bring people together through food. In his free time, Hoa enjoyed traveling and trying new cuisines. Hoa will be remembered for his kind spirit and dedication to his family. Hoa is survived by his children, Phong Ly and Cammy Nguyen, son-in-law Baogia Nguyen, and his grandchildren, Tramy Nguyen and Gia-Kiet Nguyen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation and service will be at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, 759 US Hwy 51, Madison, MS 39110 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Hue Banh may be made to Quan Am Tinh Vien, the Jackson Vietnamese Association of Buddhists. Checks can be made payable to Quan Am Tinh Vien Buddhist Temple with a memo noting “In Honor of Hue Banh” and mailed to 1757 University Blvd, Jackson, MS 39204.
