Wilfred Wesley “Bill” Henderson Jr.
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24, 2023.
Bill was born December 11, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee to Wilfred Wesley “Joe” Henderson Sr. and Ruth Maddox Henderson.
Bill served as an Operating Room Specialist in the U.S. Airforce where he received a Medal of Good Conduct. After completing his service, he returned home to complete a Degree in Dairy Science from Mississippi State University. While attending MSU, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and the Dairy Judging Team. He remained a stalwart Bulldog fan throughout his life.
Bill was a long time resident of Canton, Mississippi where he reared his family and worked for many years as the Plant Manager of the local dairy, Flav-O-Rich. He concluded his career as a leading consultant to the food and dairy industry throughout the United States and Canada. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canton, and was an active member of the community participating in many school and church organizations.
More recently, Bill retired to Niceville, Florida where he enjoyed admiring the beautiful bay from his favorite porch swing.
Bill will always be remembered for his impact on so many young people, love of open water, work ethic and fairness, indomitable will and spirit, and most of all an unwavering love of his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Jean E. Henderson, his Father W. W. "Joe" Henderson Sr., his Mother Ruth Henderson, and his sister Ann Henderson Callicutt.
He is survived by his wife Annette Griffin Henderson and his children Paige Henderson Draper (Dan), Wilfred Wesley "Wes" Henderson (Terri) and Katie Henderson-Eustice(Steve). His beloved grandchildren include Kate and Will Draper of Oak Park, CA, Connor, Bryson and Brennan Henderson of Madison, MS and Tanner and Cullen Eustice of Brandon, MS.
Bill will be laid to rest in Holly Springs, Mississippi, arrangements pending.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, Ms, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tn.
