Shack Williams, 98, of Ridgeland, passed away on May 7, 2023 at his home with his wife and children by his side. Shack was born on March 1, 1925 to the late John Shackleford Williams and the late Nettie Ingold Williams in Holmes County. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and returned home to work for Vickers Aerospace as a machinist. Shack is survived by his wife of 76 years, Earline Cain Williams, daughters, Kathy Patton (Bob) and Sherry May (Terry); grandchildren, Greg Patton (Amy), Amy Patton Pollock (Leon), and Elizabeth May Prochaska (Justin); great grandchildren, Abby Patton, Luke Patton, Brody Pollock, and Mabel Prochaska; and a sister, Nancy Black. Shack was preceded in death by his father, Shack Williams, mother, Nettie Ingold Williams, and sister, Doris Dorris, Virginia Heflin, Martha Cowsert, and Ella Mae Kuykendall. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home and again 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery.
