Clyde Earnest Gangawere Jr. 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 9. 2023 following a brief illness. Clyde was born in Uniontown Pennsylvania August 30, 1935. In his early years his family moved to Greensburg Pennsylvania where he graduated high school. He met the love of his life, Donna during this time. Clyde joined the U.S. Army and served with the Army Security Service and was stationed in Germany. After returning to the United States, he came to Mississippi to ask for Donna’s hand in marriage. After getting married he enrolled at Millsaps College to further his education. Clyde was employed with Eaton, previously Sperry Vickers, where he enjoyed a 40-year career in the aerospace industry. He primarily negotiated military contracts for Eaton products which carried him to many military bases across the nation and abroad. In the 70’s, Clyde was active in the local Jackson Little League Association and was president of the Iroquois League, where all three of his son’s played baseball and his daughter was a team Sweetheart. He also was president of the patron’s club at Council 6 Magnolia school where he helped establish their concession stands, football and baseball fields and many other necessary items and facilities for the kids in the school. He worked diligently on securing donations from local businesses, community leaders and just good ole fashion good people that wanted to make it all happen. He was also active in the 70’s with the local Republican Party by helping local candidates with their campaign to be elected. Clyde also was active in his local church, McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church where he served on several committees including being chairperson of the Finance Committee. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Sr. and Margaret Tate Gangawere His loving wife Donna Jean Harbour Gangawere and his sister Barbara Scruggs. He is survived by brother Harry “Butch” Gangawere (Brenda), sons and daughter, Doug Gangawere (Cyndee), Ruthie Gangawere Guyton (David), Bruce Gangawere (Leisa) and Todd Gangawere (Lisa). Six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Military Honors will be conducted.
