Mittie E. McQueen, 91, of Clinton, passed away on May 16, 2023 at Madison Health and Rehab. She was a resident in Clinton until she was moved to The Madison Home Place. She was born on November 22, 1931 to Jacob Floyd "Buddy" Sistrunk and Abbie Bowman Sistrunk in Walnut Grove, MS. She was a social person who enjoyed family and friends. She especially enjoyed her life with her husband and caring for him until his death in 2020. Some of her interests included Bible study, cooking, knitting and sewing, Bingo and her flowers and plants. Mittie is survived by her daughters, Judy Green (Hal), Donna Shaw (Fred); son, Johnny McQueen (Susan); grandchildren, Jared Minor (Maury), Ashley Clay (Raleigh), Allison Shaw, John David McQueen (Emily), and Blake McQueen; great grandchildren, Hagan, Tucker, and Jack; and 2 nieces, Judy Faye Lofton and Gloria Gomillion. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Garland McQueen, parents; and sisters, Etoile Netherland and Audie Lee Jones. We would also like to give a very special thanks to her caregivers, Mattie Bracey and Virgie Murriell, and The Madison Home Place where she resided and to the residents that were her friends there. Visitation will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Friday May 19, 2023 from 1:00 until 2:00pm with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home chapel.
