Olivia Deneice Pugh Jenkins Most recently of Temple, Tx Deneice, 74, passed away on July 15, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1948 to Oliver Travis Pugh and Helen Marie Myrick Pugh in Bay Springs, MS. Deneice graduated as Valedictorian from Heidelberg High School in 1967. She then graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's of Special Education in 1970. She then earned a Master's of Education from the University of South Alabama. Deneice married Ronald Van Cooley of Lucedale, MS in August of 1970. She was an educator for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools from 1988 until 2002. She and her family lived in Tokyo, Japan, the Panama Canal Zone, and Okinawa, Japan due to her employment with DoDDS. Deneice married Carl Jenkins in August of 1990 in Panama. She was an educator in Central, Texas until she retired in 2012. Deneice is survived by her husband, Carl Jenkins of Georgetown; daughters, Heather Marie Ford and Jessica Claire Kovalski; sister, Beverly Gail Pugh McMullan (Charles) of Brandon, MS; and brother, Travis Mark Pugh of Laurel, MS. Deneice is preceded in death by Oliver Travis Pugh, Helen Marie Myrick Pugh, and Ronald Van Cooley. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials and donations may be made to the Animal Humane Society in your area. Her daughters will be spreading her ashes according to her wishes.
