Robert Tearce Black, III (Terry), age 64 of Canton, passed away on January 14, 2024, at his home. Terry was born on August 1, 1959, to Robert and Jean Carver Black in Birmingham, Alabama. He has been a resident of the Jackson Metro area most of his life and worked 35 years in sales for Advantage Business Systems. He was an avid dirt bike racer in his younger years and continued his love for motorcycles and anything with an engine. He enjoyed coaching his sons and their friends when they played youth baseball and loved to dove hunt. He will always be remembered for the great steaks that he grilled. But more than all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church. Terry is survived by his sons, John Black (Ellen) and Joey Black (Danielle) and their mother, Jan Black; grandchildren, Lawrence Elizabeth Black, Lucy Carver Black, and Lily James Black; and numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Robert T Black, Jr. and mother, Jean Carver Black. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home and again Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
