Judy F. Hill Madison, MS Judy Fikes Hill, born Nov. 18, 1943, in Philadelphia, MS passed away on July 13, 2024, after suffering a severe brain injury. She was surrounded by the love of many family members in the ICU of St. Dominic Hospital as she took her last breath. The family is grateful for the care and compassion of Dr. Benjamin Kerr and many nurses in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Additionally, the Hill family is thankful for the loving staff of St. Catherine's Village, whom Judy referred to as her friends in the past few years of living there. Judy grew up in Jackson, MS, and graduated from Murrah High School before attending Hinds Community College. Shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Joseph "Jody" Lutz Hill and they have been married for almost 61 years. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was a teachers' assistant at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Greenville, then later worked at Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Jackson. Almost 20 years later she left the bank to help care for her aging mother and mother-in-law. A few years later, Judy returned to being a teachers' assistant in second grade at St. Richard Catholic School in Jackson. Her St. Richard School family brought her much joy in the 9 years she worked there. Her most favorite roles in life were being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed and survived by her husband Jody, their children John (Martha) Hill, Joe (Leslie) Hill and Ann (Jeff) Cook. Her children are forever grateful for all the love and attention she gave to her 8 grandchildren. She enjoyed being "Gram" to each of them: Mary Stafford Hill Christensen, Leighton Hill Stevens, Frances Hill, Rachel Cabell Geimer, Ross Cabell, Eva Hill, Timothy Cook and Catherine Cook. Judy and Jody also have received much joy in recent years with the arrival of 3 great grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Delma and Juanita Fikes; brother, Dickey Fikes, in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024, beginning at 9:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4000 W Tidewater Ln, Madison MS where Judy and Jody have been dedicated members for almost 40 years.
