I worked with Michael Simpson at Sysco for many years. At one point our offices were side by side. He was a lighthearted prankster who I nicknamed “Mayhem” because when he was around a prank or joke was always looming. Whenever I’d see him coming or hear his voice I’d call out for “security”. He’d just burst out laughing and say “what security”. I told him weekly, if not daily, he should throw flowers at his Wife’s feet for marrying him. He say, “don’t say that”. Mrs. Cindy may not remember but I told her that when I met her once at the office. Our back and forth banter was always in fun.
He joked often but also didn’t mind sharing The Gospel with all who’d listen.
He spoke fondly of his family, especially the grandkids. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. May God continue to bless and comfort you.

Pastor Mike was well versed in the scriptures and loved to say, "and then what" after he questioned the bible study class during the a lesson. He would ask over and over to make sure we students dug deeper into each question. He would teach even after a long day of work and didn't half do it. I really appreciated that. He is in heaven with my Dad now I'm sure discussing the deep deep questions that they always pondered about Jesus in their hearts. I love them both and look foward to seeing them both again one day right after I see Christ. Love you Pastor Michael. From Gena

God has a plan for all of us. We do not understand why certain things happen, but he is in control. Michael's time on earth ended, when God brought him home to continue with his (God's) wishes. We are sorry and sad that he is gone, but he is at his permanent home doing God's works. Prayers for everyone who was touched by Michael especially his wife and their children. Just remember, it is not a sad time, but a joyful time for Michael

Met Simpson back in 2002 when I came over from Orlando, Florida. He and I worked on many projects together at SYSCO Jackson over the years. He and I loved to eat at Country Fisherman's or Mama Hamil's for lunch-I'll always have the great memories-prayers going up to all the family.
