Bob was my first cousin with there being 13 years difference in our ages. My father Jack Elliott Sr. was the brother of Bob's mother Helen Ruth Elliott Smith. In fact Bob was exactly 21 years to the day younger than my father.
When I was a child, I was occasionally left along with my brother John at my aunt Helen Ruth's house. Bob was then well into his teen years, and I know from experience that most teenagers are not inclined to be tolerant to brat cousins whom they'd just as soon have go out and play in the street. Bob was different. He was always so pleasant to us brats and kind and patient. In years and decades to come Bob never failed to be kind and patient to everyone. That was who he was.
He will be missed.
