To know Billie was to know Fred.. They were a package deal. My first encounters with them was in the last months of 1970. I was part of a college group from Mississippi College that was hungry for more of the Lord. Fred became like another "Dad" for some of us who had our parents a distance away. There are so many memories of Fred as a policeman, as a man fishing on his lake, as a member of our New Covenant Church, as a storyteller of his many experiences in life. He will be missed. It is comforting to know that he is waiting for us to join him someday.
