Rita Embry, age 57, of Madison, died May 3, 2023. A native of Indianola, MS, Rita is the daughter of Alan and Helen Nelms. Rita graduated from Indianola Academy as Valedictorian, and she earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Rita married Anthony Embry in 1988 and worked for Baptist Medical Center for 35 years as a Medical Lab Technologist. She is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Lori Embry Fox; and father-in-law, Charles Embry. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Anthony Embry; sons, Jordan Embry (Kayla) and Hunter Embry; parents, Alan and Helen Nelms; brother, Robert Nelms; father-in-law and mother-in law, Charles and Betty Easley; stepbrother, David Easley (Renae); brother-in-law, Joel Fox (Angie); and two precious nieces, Embry Ellen and Mamie Grace. Visitation will be Friday May 5, 2023, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home from 3:30 until 5:30pm and again Saturday at Pinelake Church in Gluckstadt from 1:30 until 3:30pm. The funeral service will follow at 3:30pm with interment in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison. Flowers are appreciated or memorials made in her name may be made to a charity of your choice.
