On May 21st, David Bruce Bancroft passed peacefully in his sleep after 1 and half years of valiantly fighting brain cancer. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Tina Bancroft of Madison, Mississippi. His daughters Trinity Bancroft of Madison. Sloan Trammell and husband Ty. Along with granddaughter, Ann Hampton Trammell all of Madison. His mother Martha Bancroft of Meridian, Mississippi, and siblings Ann Weddington and Scott Bancroft of Meridian. He was preceded in death by his father Eddie Currance Bancroft Jr. Bruce was born on October 19th, 1959, in Meridian, Mississippi. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1977 and went on to attend The University of Southern Mississippi where he graduated in 1982 with a degree in Political Science. Using that knowledge, he once took the LSAT for fun and passed. He was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and kept in touch with many of his brothers over the years. Bruce married Tina in 1998. They shared their first date on Valentine’s Day and were married just a few short months later in December. Bruce was Tina’s personal comedian, chef and confidante. The two were inseparable. Bruce also loved rescuing dogs, singing 80s rock music, keeping up with Southern Miss sports and being with his three girls. He phoned in countless nights to Who wants to be a millionaire in attempt to be chosen as a contestant. He served as a human encyclopedia, knowing every fact about the many things that interested him; a human Atlas, being able to identify just about anywhere in the country only knowing the mile marker number; and extremely quick to tell you that you were, in fact, singing the wrong lyrics to a song. Bruce lived his life with confidence, unmatched intelligence, and the warmest of love exuding from him. A graveside service for Bruce is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
