My name is Lisa Porter Stanton. My family is from Jackson. Wayne dated my older sister Rachel Porter Biles in high school. I adored Wayne. He was like a big brother to me. He was always kind and very caring. He was always smiling, happy and always fun. I loved his personality and he was a great athlete.
Im truly sorry for your loss of such a wonderful human being. He will be greatly missed.
I pray God puts his loving arms around Wayne and gives him eternal love and peace.

Coach Wayne was my first real coach. From the Jags to the Heat, I can still close my eyes and hear Coach saying — “Little Men, I want you to know I’m proud of each and every one of you.” Those summers with Reid and Coach Wayne were some of my best memories, and we wore some people out in baseball! Coach Wayne always got the best out of us. I haven’t seen him in years since going to college and moving away, but he had a major impact on me growing up. I hope to coach my kids the way Coach Wayne coached me all those summers. — JD

Wayne was a fellow regulator with me at DEQ’s Hazardous Waste Division. We worked many waste site investigations together. Later on as a private contractor I worked the Deepwater Horizon oil spill with Wayne. Our paths continued to cross both professionally and personally until the time of his passing. Camping, hunting and fishing. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and a great father and family man. He will definitely be missed.
