Curtis "Wayne" Stover, Jr., 63, of Madison, passed away peacefully at his home in Madison on July 19, 2023. Born November 27, 1959, he was the son of Curtis Wayne Stover and Elizabeth Simon Stover. Wayne was a native of Jackson, MS and a graduate of Callaway High School. He continued his education at Mississippi State University. He retired as a Geologist after a long career with the Department of Environmental Quality and was currently employed by FC&E Engineering. Wayne was a competitive athlete and a beloved youth baseball coach for many years in Madison County. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and bird watch. Wayne is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ginger Buzhardt Stover, sons, Joshua Wayne Stover (Taylor) and Reid Joseph Stover; grandchildren, Emmett Stover and Harris Stover; sisters, Malana Banks, Traci Stover, and Beth Stover; brother, Craig Stover;4 nieces and 7 nephews. Visitation will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home Friday July 21, 2023, from 5:00-7:00pm. A second visitation will be Saturday July 22, 2023, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church from 9:00-11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
